Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is actively seeking a Director of Rheumatology to lead the Rheumatology Division within the Department of Medicine. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of care provided to patients across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight for the Rheumatology Division, ensuring excellence in both inpatient and outpatient care.
- Guide and mentor a dedicated team of rheumatologists, fellows, residents, and medical students, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Encourage and support research initiatives and scholarly activities to advance the field of rheumatology.
- Act as a representative of the Division on various hospital committees, collaborating closely with the Department of Medicine and affiliated academic institutions.
- Contribute to the design and execution of clinical programs, maintaining a focus on high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Engage in educational activities, including teaching rounds and lectures, to promote knowledge sharing.
- Supervise resident and fellow training rotations, ensuring a comprehensive educational experience.
- Work in partnership with fellowship programs to integrate trainees into the clinical environment.
- Seek external funding opportunities to support research and educational projects.
- Maintain an active clinical practice with an emphasis on complex rheumatic conditions.
Qualifications:
- Board certification and fellowship training in Rheumatology, with a minimum of five years of clinical experience.
- Proven leadership experience within an academic medical center.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to education and mentorship of future rheumatologists.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team.
- Experience in clinical research and grant writing is preferred.
