Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety Specialist to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals. The successful candidate will play a critical role in promoting a culture of safety and quality within our healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior administrative and clinical leadership to develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive patient safety program.
  • Coordinate and manage patient safety data collection and submission, analyzing and summarizing data to inform leadership and staff.
  • Conduct patient safety walk rounds to identify and address potential safety risks, and manage the Patient Safety Hotline and online event portal.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for various committees, providing recommendations for quality and risk management strategies.
  • Act as a liaison and resource to leadership and staff on patient safety matters, including events, activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with patient safety standards, professional guidelines, and best practices, communicating effective strategies to staff and participating in research and special studies.
  • Participate in internal and external quality assurance and performance improvement activities, programs, and training.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field, with two years of experience in patient safety and quality improvement, or a Bachelor's degree with three years of experience.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of patient safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
