Job Title: VP, Legal Position in Business Selection

Job Summary:

The Business Selection & Conflicts Group (BSC) is a critical component of Investment Banking, responsible for clearing new business mandates and ensuring potential conflicts of interest are identified and managed. As a VP, Legal Position in Business Selection, you will play a key role in driving decision-making on business selection issues and ensuring the firm commits to the most attractive opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take a leading role in BSC's conflict clearance process, interacting with investment bankers globally and internal support partners.
  • Analyze complex situations on a compressed timetable and provide timely and accurate guidance to investment bankers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with global BSC colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Manage junior level team resources and provide guidance on conflict clearance processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of transactional legal experience and/or transaction-oriented experience in a business or compliance-oriented role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and anticipate potential questions or issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience in managing junior level team resources and providing guidance on conflict clearance processes.
