Job Summary

The Housekeeping Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department at Homewood Grand Rapids. This includes ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards, as well as supervising a team of housekeeping staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect Guest Rooms: Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms to ensure they are clean and meet the hotel's standards.
  • Supervise Housekeeping Staff: Supervise and train a team of housekeeping staff to ensure they are performing their duties to the highest standards.
  • Coordinate Housekeeping Functions: Coordinate the daily housekeeping functions, including assigning tasks and ensuring that all areas of the hotel are cleaned and maintained.
  • Assume Housekeeping Supervisor Functions: Assume the responsibilities of the Housekeeping Supervisor in their absence.
  • Monitor Cleaning Standards: Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel.
  • Report Progress: Report progress of all out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager daily.
  • Initiate Work Orders: Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Train and Develop Staff: Provide training and development opportunities for housekeeping staff to improve their skills and performance.
  • Monitor V.I.P. Rooms: Monitor and ensure that V.I.P. rooms are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Oversee Daily Assignments: Oversee the daily assignment of duties to ensure that all areas of the hotel are cleaned and maintained.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Qualifications: Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
