This role involves overseeing the comprehensive field management of HNTB's contracts, ensuring administration and coordination on projects that are both diverse and complex in nature.

You will monitor the activities of assigned personnel to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, providing technical guidance for unique assignments. Additionally, you will review design documents, specifications, and installation methods for feasibility, and may suggest design modifications. You will represent projects in various meetings and conferences, typically managing projects valued at $10M or more, playing a crucial role in large-scale project pursuits.

Key Responsibilities:


Lead the development of project scope and fee proposals, assisting in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in line with HNTB's Advanced Contracting Methodology (ACM).

Coordinate project activities, set priorities, and allocate staff to various tasks. Prepare comprehensive inspection reports detailing daily activities. Monitor contractor progress against the approved schedule and resolve technical field challenges by collaborating with architects and engineers for prompt and accurate responses to information requests.

Oversee project controls, including verifying contractor controls and coordinating timelines; review construction schedules.

Evaluate submittals for adherence to plans and specifications, developing strategies with contractors to ensure timely submission packages that meet schedule demands.

Implement the firm's project delivery strategy utilizing HNTB's Advanced Delivery Method (ADM) for each project. Lead the creation and execution of the project management plan, mentoring the team to achieve overall project goals. Identify and address any non-compliant work.

Provide interpretation and enforcement of contract documents and specifications. Develop strategies with contractors to ensure submittal packages align with schedule requirements.

Confirm change order requests, develop cost estimates, negotiate expenses, and draft change orders.

Ensure cost control on projects and maintain quality assurance within the discipline.


Collaborate with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to support business development, fostering client relationships and pursuit efforts for significant projects in accordance with HNTB's Advanced Sales Methodology (ASM).

Work alongside the project team and marketing resources to create compelling proposal and presentation materials.

Lead the proposal development and presentation efforts for strategic projects, including interviews with clients and general presentations within the industry and community.


May also be involved in the recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of construction personnel, including planning for staff reporting, performance evaluations, and succession planning.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of construction-related experience.

All relevant jurisdictional certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Engineering.

12 years of pertinent experience.


Professional Engineer (PE), American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III certifications.
