Position Overview

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is currently seeking a skilled engineer to join our Construction Field Engineering team. This role involves collaborating with system and infrastructure engineering teams and subcontractors on various projects at the Naval Reactors Facility.

Project Scope

Our construction portfolio includes a range of projects, from short-term initiatives to extensive, multi-million-dollar undertakings, as well as renovations of aging infrastructure.

The Field Engineer will provide essential technical expertise to ensure the successful execution of projects while maintaining safety, reliability, quality, schedule, and cost efficiency as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related scientific field, along with a minimum of four years of relevant experience. Alternatively, candidates may qualify through previous NPE qualifications, CTE/ACRS experience, or a Master's degree with two years of experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in creating technical documents, including specifications and work scopes
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with OSHA Construction Industry Regulations and Building Codes
  • Experience in project planning and execution
  • Proficiency in cost estimation and software tools such as AutoCAD and MS Office
