Job Summary

The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (CT) position at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is a critical role that requires a high level of expertise and technical skills. As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including computed tomography (CT) scans, to help diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including CT scans, to help diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
  • Operate and maintain complex imaging equipment, including CT scanners, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Develop and implement imaging protocols to ensure high-quality images and accurate diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Provide patient education and support to ensure a positive and safe imaging experience.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a radiologic technology program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Registered in radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Advanced ARRT certification in computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) required for assignments that include performance of independent duties in these subspecialties.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Working Conditions

The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (CT) position requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to radiation. The position also requires standing for long periods, lifting moderately heavy equipment, and working in awkward positions.
