Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, etc.
* Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
* Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
* Coordinate and complete annual audits.
* Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
* Meet financial accounting objectives.
* Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
* Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
* Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
* Support budget and forecasting activities.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial accounting role.
* CPA or CMA certification preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with other Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
* Experience with budgeting, financial planning, and financial statement preparation.
* Proven ability to manage accounts payable and receivable, and perform account reconciliation.
* Excellent leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
* Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
