Before and After School Program Assistant Teacher

Join the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids team as a Before and After School Program Assistant Teacher We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to provide a safe and fun environment for children to prepare for their school day and unwind from it.
About the Role:As a Before and After School Program Assistant Teacher, you will assist in the planning, developing, and implementing of classroom activities for programs. You will work closely with the Site Coordinator to develop and lead daily lesson plans, prepare materials for daily activities, and maintain records of attendance, arrival, and departure times.
Responsibilities:- Assist in the planning and implementation of daily lesson plans
- Prepare materials for daily activities
- Maintain records of attendance, arrival, and departure times
- Provide weekly lesson plans to parents
- Provide daily information to parents on individual activities
- Maintain supervision of children
- Assist with parent-teacher conferences as needed
- Maintain the quality and quantity of supplies, equipment, and materials in the classroom
We are looking for an individual with six months to one year of youth development related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. You must be able to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles, and have the ability and desire to work with school-age children.
Benefits:We offer a competitive hourly wage of $14.62 - $18.28, with a $2/hour shift premium for staff who work both before school program hours and after school program hours in the same day. You will also receive a free YMCA Individual Membership, 10% retirement contribution upon eligibility, and access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
