Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to library patrons, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operate library systems, including circulation, cataloging, and other software applications.
  • Assist with daily library operations, including shelving books, processing materials, and maintaining a clean and organized library environment.
  • Support the development and implementation of library programs and services, including events and outreach activities.
  • Collaborate with library staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in library science or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to operate library systems and software applications, with willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, working a variable schedule that includes evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours as needed.
