Cloud Infrastructure Architect

*6-month contract to hire*

Onsite: 4x a week onsite

Optomi, in collaboration with a leading client in the telecommunications sector, is in search of a seasoned Cloud Architect to enhance their team. The chosen candidate will be integral to a forward-thinking group dedicated to advancing innovations in emerging technologies. This position plays a vital role in defining the strategic framework for multi-access edge (MEC) infrastructure and services, which includes responsibilities in research, architectural design, and engineering.

The ideal candidate will work alongside diverse teams to establish technical specifications for new edge products and services, create proof-of-concept projects, and closely partner with other departments to implement these technologies effectively.

We are looking for a results-oriented individual with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction, merging profound technical knowledge with business insight. A comprehensive understanding of cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, and GCP) and technologies like Kubernetes is crucial. The role also necessitates keeping abreast of MEC and cloud industry trends and best practices. Experience in deploying cloud and edge solutions in sectors such as programmatic advertising, GenAI, financial services, and content delivery/streaming is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, identify use cases, and develop architecture for MEC solutions across various sectors, including programmatic advertising, GenAI, financial services, and content delivery/streaming.
  • Provide technical leadership in designing and deploying edge-based solutions, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on edge services, offering guidance on best practices and optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable and reliable edge-based solutions and architectural proposals.
  • Advocate for customer-centric approaches, ensuring a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences to gain a competitive edge.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Experience working with customers and partners to design future-state cloud/edge architectures and solutions.
  • Proficiency in architecting cloud-to-edge platform systems, including defining use cases, system flows, hardware, platform, and software architecture that meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security requirements.
  • Experience in architecting and implementing public cloud platforms or edge services across two or more Cloud Service Provider networks (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud/edge industry trends and the MEC ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with the application of cloud/edge services in programmatic advertising, GenAI, financial services, and content delivery/streaming.
  • Strategic thinking abilities, with a strong understanding of business, product, and technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong writing skills for creating architecture requirements and design documentation.
  • Ability to represent business interests in various settings, including with management, business partners, and vendors.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapting to new technologies.
