POSITION OVERVIEW
Join the Metrology team in a pivotal Quality Engineering position focused on Automated Inspection, Calibration, and Incoming Inspection processes. Ensure adherence to all relevant statutory and regulatory standards, including cGMP/QSR, ISO13485, and 21CFR820, Part 11.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively engage in initiatives that promote local and global safety practices and programs.

- Serve as a change agent, participating in continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction, process optimization, and employee empowerment.

- Evaluate inspection and testing methodologies, tools, and equipment. Interpret engineering drawings with a strong emphasis on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Collaborate as a Department Representative during internal, corporate, customer, and third-party audits.
- Lead or participate in Department Action Teams for Corrective Actions (CA), Preventative Actions (PA), and A3 Projects.

- Assist in the rollout of new or modified automated inspection solutions, including the selection, design, implementation, and qualification of fixtures, gauges, standards, and methods.

- Contribute to quoting activities by engaging in initial process design, development, and implementation phases. Support Program Management and commercial objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
The following are the essential qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Applied Science discipline (or equivalent experience in Quality/Process/Product/Manufacturing) with 0 – 2 years of engineering experience.

- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities are essential. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are also required.

Preferred qualifications include:
- Practical knowledge of Blueprint reading and GD&T practices in accordance with industry standards (ANSI, ASME, ISO). Familiarity with Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) studies and Gage Attribute studies.

- Proficient technical writing skills, including the ability to create work instructions, procedures, testing protocols, and summary reports.

- Experience with advanced inspection systems such as Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMMs), Vision Systems, Height Gauges, and Force Testers.

- Programming experience with inspection systems utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) software like Keyence VS Creator.

- Proficiency in Coordinate-based software such as PC-DMIS, MeasureMind3D, Zone3, MeasureX, Keyence VR, Visual Basic (VB)/Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Python, and BlueHill.

- Familiarity with CAD software packages like SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, and statistical analysis tools such as Minitab and Excel.
