Job Overview
The California State University, Stanislaus is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to fill the role of Student Assistant for the Center for Disease Control (CDC). This position is ideal for undergraduate students looking to gain valuable experience in an administrative setting while contributing to the operations of the Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Professionally manage phone communications and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
- Welcome and assist families and students visiting the Center.
- Utilize common office equipment effectively.
- Conduct errands across various departments and offices on campus.
- Perform tasks such as alphabetizing, filing, purging, data entry, and document scanning.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Center, including communal areas like the kitchen and lobby.
- Support Center administration with various operational activities.
- Oversee the maintenance of bulletin boards within the Center.
- Assist in preparations for Center events.
- Create promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and signs.
- Contribute to the Center's social media and online presence.
- Work independently while adhering to instructions on various projects.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Availability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week is preferred.
- Exhibit dependability, initiative, and professionalism.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage projects effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) and other relevant software.
- Knowledge of campus resources and prior office experience is advantageous.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be an undergraduate student enrolled in at least six (6) units during the Fall/Spring semesters.
- Must have received and accepted a Financial Aid award for the current semester/year.
Special Conditions:
Compliance with CSU's COVID-19 immunization policy is required for all faculty, staff, and students accessing campus facilities.
Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position is $16.00.
