About the Role

Mary's Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a key member of our oral health department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the oral health management of all clinic patients, including obtaining baseline oral hygiene assessment data and recording patient-hygienist transactions.
  • Provide oral health education and individual counseling to all center dental patients, as well as clinical oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, scaling, sealant application, and fluoride application.
  • Work with dentists to coordinate care and referrals for patients receiving preventive services, and perform independent procedures as delegated and directed by a dentist.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all Oral Health Department areas, including infection control, exposure control, and safety issues.
  • Receives and places necessary telephone calls consistent with professional matters, clinic business, and patient care of the Oral Health Department.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of dental hygiene is required.
  • Unrestricted license to practice Oral Hygiene in the District of Columbia and/or Maryland and current CPR (BLS) certification for this position.
  • Regularly required to sit, frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, and must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
