Position Overview
SAIC is in search of a Lead Software Developer to enhance their engineering team. This role offers flexible remote options for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with clients to ensure the effective deployment of a streaming data architecture and develop creative solutions that utilize this technology.
- Design, build, test, and implement tailored machine learning systems and other specialized applications based on client specifications.
- Participate in deployment and execution strategy discussions with clients.
- Support the deployment of software within Kubernetes environments.
- Create comprehensive documentation to assist clients with custom applications.
- Provide instructional materials and technical insights for product documentation.
- Engage in full stack development utilizing Python, Java, or JavaScript for both front-end and back-end applications, including React:
- Java / Python expertise
- Java / DevOps – Understanding of infrastructure
- Database / Java – Experience with big data solutions using Postgres or MongoDB
- Possess a deep understanding of indexing and search methodologies.
- Have a solid foundation in relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with JPA and other Object Relational Mapping technologies is advantageous.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks.
- While not mandatory, knowledge of Apache NiFi is a plus.
- Understand object-oriented design patterns.
- Experience with SQL and database integration.
- Proficient in Linux commands and shell scripting.
- Have experience in developing data-driven applications with a strong understanding of ETL processes and supporting data pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- Deliver training sessions for clients.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen with a Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field, along with five (5) years of relevant experience. Alternatively, four (4) additional years of professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Experience with at least one of the following frameworks: React or similar.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with SQL and database management.
- Proficient in Linux and shell scripting.
Compensation range: $80,001 - $120,000, reflecting the typical salary for this role based on experience and other relevant factors.
SAIC welcomes applications on an ongoing basis.
