Rural Carrier Associate

The United States Postal Service is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Rural Carrier Associate. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering mail to customers along a prescribed rural route using a vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mail Sorting and Delivery: Sort and load mail into your vehicle in delivery sequence for the assigned route.
  • Customer Service: Provide customers on the route with a variety of services, including receipt and signing for accountable mail.
  • Loading and Delivery: Load mail into the vehicle and deliver it to customers along a regular schedule.
  • Collection and Record Keeping: Collect monies and receipts for accountable mail and maintain records of change of address information.
  • Route Maintenance: Pick up mail from roadside boxes and return undelivered mail to the post office.
  • Reporting and Administration: Prepare a daily trip report and maintain a list of customers on the route.

Requirements:

  • Able to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy packages and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle safely.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $62,414 - $94,379 per year, depending on location and experience.
