Key Responsibilities- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their questions, providing guidance on coverage changes and contractual requirements, and educating them on exclusions and exposures.
- Insurance Plan Design: Assist in the strategic design of insurance plans for clients with little to no supervision, ensuring a high level of client retention.
- Field Underwriting: Act as a field underwriter and authorized representative of insurance carriers to determine whether coverage should be bound, and bind coverage as appropriate.
- Account Retention: Strategically assist in the remarketing of renewals to ensure a high level of account retention.
- Proposal Preparation: Oversee the preparation of proposals for clients, including submissions, loss evaluations, and risk analysis, to ensure timely and accurate quotations and policies.
- Policy Administration: Prepare summaries of insurance and schedules, support client needs by accurately producing binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other related items.
- Claims Management: Assist clients in submitting first reports of claims, obtain adjusters, and arrange visits from the claims team to facilitate prompt response from carriers and their staff.
- Policy Audits: Review policy audits, verify their accuracy, and confirm necessary corrections between the client and carrier are executed.
- Cancellation Management: Review cancellations, determine the reason for cancellation requests, and attempt to save client accounts while maintaining the company's financial equity.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay abreast of industry information, new products, legislation, coverage, and technology to continuously improve knowledge, performance, and services to clients.
- Process Improvement: Recommend process improvements as needed and quickly identify and resolve complex client service issues.
- A Property and Casualty License from the state of domicile is required and must be maintained, with preference given to individuals with insurance designations (e.g. CISR, CIC, CPCU).
- A college degree is preferred.
- 3-5 years' account management experience in the insurance industry in commercial lines and commercial lines of coverage is required.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and software.
- A valid driver's license, the ability to travel to client sites, and a reliable source of transportation are required.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
