The Quality Assurance Specialist plans, tests, and executes the delivery of the daily blend and product requirements for production through scheduling and manufacturing of full goods with adherence to the company quality specifications. The Quality Assurance Specialist maintains concentrate, sugar, and other ingredient materials, as required. The Quality Assurance Specialist also maintains blending and product transfer equipment sanitation to ensure conformance to quality and sanitation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executes the delivery of batch beverage blends, coordinates the set-up of flavors for production runs, and conducts qualitative and quantitative testing of beverage samples and finished goods throughout the entire production process
    \t

  • Maintains blending equipment (mixes and syrup tanks) sanitation requirements to ensure system-wide conformance to quality and sanitation standards and maintains the highest possible housekeeping standards to prevent microbial contaminations
    \t
    \t\t
  • Perform administrative tasks such as daily shift reports, concentrate usage, and inventory, quality testing results, and receiving raw materials in SAP
    \t
    \t\t
  • Maintains and calibrates lab equipment to ensure measurement accuracy
    \t
    \t\t
  • Conducts quality inspection and quality audits, isolates product that does not meet standards, and troubleshoots basic problems related to test results and product flow
    \t
    \t\t
  • Serves as a lead for the quality department and operates, tests, and troubleshoots an entire shift independently
    \t
    \t

Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years prior production, manufacturing experience OR 2+ years relevant lab technician experience
    \t
    \t\t
  • Ability to follow work instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures
    \t
    \t\t
  • Understanding of a laboratory environment and laboratory practices preferred
    \t
    \t\t
  • Familiarity with lab safety and handling of hazardous materials
    \t
    \t\t
  • Basic math, analytical and problem-solving skills
    \t
    \t\t
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
    \t
    \t\t
  • Familiar with High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC) Technology Ability to multitask

  • Ability to read, write, and keep records

  • Good computer skills including literacy with Excel and Word

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Food Manufacturing environment with seasonal temperatures, flexible shifts, and weekend and holiday work based on business needs
