Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist - Advanced Modality Expert at BJC, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures in at least one advanced imaging modality on adults and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment, and quality control. You will also coordinate continuing staff education, update protocols and procedures, and maintain any necessary documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients and equipment for procedures.
  • Perform studies independently, in on-call situations, portable exams, and other sites as required by work area.
  • Manage the quality assurance process in compliance with accreditation and hospital guidelines. Responsible for all technical aspects of the scanners such as updating protocols and ensuring proper function of the equipment.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinicians and radiologists for all patient-related needs. Provide support in managing and organizing patient care.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining continuing medical education requirements for all staff technologists and coordinate the education of staff on all current and new procedures.

Requirements
  • Associate or trade school education.
  • 2-5 years of experience.
  • No supervisor experience required.
  • Licenses and certifications: IEMA - Illinois only, excl MRI; R.T.(R), CT, MR, M, BD, CI, VI, RCIS.

Preferred Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience.
