We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse/Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Lucia Mar USD. As a key member of our special education support team, you will provide essential healthcare services and instructional assistance to students with diverse needs.
Responsibilities- Administer medications and perform specialized health care procedures for students with Individual Health Care Plans.
- Provide basic assessment, prescribed treatment, and evaluation of students with diabetes, including insulin dosages and administration.
- Assist students with daily functioning, including feeding, toileting, exercise, and positioning.
- Monitor students with specialized health care needs during bus transport and activities.
- Assist in student instruction using teacher-prepared plans and monitor student activities as assigned.
- Current California Vocational Nurse License.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Graduation from high school or its equivalent.
- Valid California driver license.
- Ability to effectively and positively relate to students with diverse needs and abilities.
This position requires the ability to work calmly under pressure, maintain positive relationships with colleagues and parents, and adapt to changing situations. The successful candidate will be required to present proof of tuberculin test and pass fingerprint screening prior to the first day of employment.
