Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team at UMROI - 2200 Kernan Drive, Gwynn Oak, MD 21207. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions, serving meals, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of food items, including cooking, portioning, and presentation
  • Serving meals, using correct ticket collection procedures, and ensuring quality service
  • Cleaning the kitchen, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and storing excess food safely
  • Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, performing routine checks and reporting issues to supervisors
  • Assisting with production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a cook position, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Ability to work part-time hours, including weekends, and adapt to changing schedules
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and ability to learn new tasks and procedures
