Position Overview:
Pride Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician V to contribute to our client's healthcare facility. This role is structured as a contract position with potential for extension, ideal for candidates looking to establish a long-term career within a prestigious healthcare organization.
Key Requirements:
- Certification from ASCP or AMT is mandatory.
- Educational background: Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Experience as a generalist in laboratory settings is preferred.
Work Schedule:
The position involves a night shift from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend duties. Initial training will occur during the weekdays, transitioning to evening shifts to accommodate high-volume periods before moving to the night shift.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Candidates must meet vaccine requirements, including Hepatitis B and MMR, with declination permitted only for Hepatitis B. Additionally, medical screenings such as TB, MMR, and color vision assessments are required.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is between $35 and $41 per hour, determined by education, experience, and relevant healthcare credentials.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and advanced technical procedures in accordance with established protocols.
- Evaluate specimen acceptability based on defined criteria.
- Monitor and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure optimal performance.
- Make informed technical decisions regarding testing and problem resolution.
- Prepare and assess new reagents or controls.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control activities.
- Assist in specimen processing as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant field with a BS or MLT.
- ASCP or AMT certification is essential.
