Medical Technologist I - Molecular Biology Specialist

At ICON Clinical Research, we're seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist I to join our team. As a molecular biology specialist, you will be responsible for performing pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing procedures using molecular methods, techniques, and equipment. Your expertise will ensure the Laboratory meets the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform molecular testing procedures, including nucleic acid extraction, PCR, and RNA/DNA sequencing
  • Analyze result data for results reporting per study guidelines
  • Deliver results within the expected time period
  • Verify and ensure specimen integrity and continuity throughout all testing steps
  • Perform critical quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of clinical data
  • Validate test results through correlation with test parameters
  • Complete routine instrument and equipment preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Train newer laboratory technologists in the use of proper techniques and procedures related to good clinical laboratory practice

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience successfully performing as a Technologist in a molecular biology laboratory
  • MB(ASCP), MT(ASCP) certification or eligibility for certification is preferred
