Job Summary:

Corning Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our optical fiber manufacturing team, you will be responsible for leading our capabilities in the preform manufacturing process. This will include championing fundamental engineering concepts to drive capability advancements in glassmaking processes, identifying and justifying capacity, cost reduction, and process improvement projects, and working between technology and plant manufacturing organizations to ensure smooth deployment of new technologies, products, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Champion fundamental engineering concepts to drive capability advancements in glassmaking processes.
- Identify and justify capacity, cost reduction, and process improvement projects with division-wide implications.
- Work between technology and plant manufacturing organizations to ensure smooth deployment of new technologies, products, and processes.

Requirements:

- B.S. in Engineering (Ceramics, Chemical, Materials, or Mechanical preferred).
- 4+ years' experience in manufacturing engineering, glass, or material engineering is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

- Strong data analysis and statistical skills.
- Experience with statistical packages such as Minitab and JMP.
- Strong computer skills, including ability to analyze data using Excel and Access.
