Job Overview
The Parts Specialist will play a crucial role in assisting the engineering and service teams. This position involves handling customer inquiries via calls and emails, reviewing technical documentation, and procuring necessary components for both clients and service personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering schematics and operational manuals.
- Analyze technical blueprints to source required components.
- Provide pricing information and credit terms, and prepare sales agreements for orders.
- Conduct thorough research to assist service, manufacturing, and purchasing teams in identifying obsolete or unfamiliar parts, ensuring customer needs are met effectively.
- Estimate delivery timelines based on production and shipping schedules, and address any customer concerns regarding deliveries.
- Input new customer information and maintain sales records in the database.
- Monitor and manage back orders, keeping relevant parties informed.
- Respond to inquiries from internal departments, including engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing.
- Resolve billing or service-related complaints, directing issues to the appropriate departments for further investigation.
- Engage with customers and collaborate with engineering teams.
- Proficient in reading mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Experience in creating and interpreting Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
This role is classified as Contract-to-Hire.
Work Environment:
The position is fully on-site, and the team consists of two other members along with a parts supervisor. Standard working hours are from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
