Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the performance and relationships with Customs Brokers, conducting regular reviews
  • Establish and implement standard operating procedures and data governance within the Import department
  • Act as the liaison between regulatory agencies, trade partners, and internal teams, providing expert customs guidance
  • Ensure compliance with all import regulations and procedures
  • Continuously analyze the regulatory landscape, particularly regarding tariffs and trade restrictions, and communicate findings effectively
  • Lead the Customs & Import teams in daily operations and long-term planning
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements on new business initiatives
  • Conduct site visits for relationship management and compliance training
  • Facilitate meetings with government agencies to resolve issues and clarify requirements
  • Engage in industry associations to enhance knowledge and promote the brand
  • Provide feedback to regulatory bodies on proposed rules to influence favorable outcomes
  • Develop training materials and conduct workshops to uphold compliance standards

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in Import Customs roles
  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Operations
  • Proven experience managing Customs House Brokers and logistics providers
  • Background in the Retail sector
  • Strong leadership skills for cross-functional projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with MS Access is a plus
  • Broad knowledge of supply chain processes

Compensation

Competitive base salary with potential for additional incentives.
