Optometry Faculty Specialist in Rural Eye Care

Northeastern State University's College of Optometry is seeking a highly skilled Optometry Clinical Assistant Professor to join our team in the Rural Eye Program. This non-tenure track faculty position combines direct patient care, clinical education duties, and administrative activities to manage clinical operations in one of the Cherokee Nation tribal health facilities in northeast Oklahoma.
The ideal candidate will have completed an optometry residency program and possess administrative experience in a private practice setting. Preference will be given to those eligible for licensure to practice the full scope of optometry in Oklahoma. As a professor, you will work closely with our team to provide exceptional patient care, educate students, and develop clinical programs.
Responsibilities:
- Direct patient care in a rural healthcare setting
- Clinical education duties, including teaching and mentoring students
- Administrative activities, such as managing clinical operations and developing programs
Requirements:
- O.D. degree from an accredited institution
- Eligibility for licensure to practice the full scope of optometry in Oklahoma
- Experience in private practice or academic settings
- Completed optometry residency program (preferred)
What We Offer:
- Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience
