Position Overview:
Role Responsibilities:
- Engage in multiple phases of wireless technology initiatives, including strategizing, designing, executing, prototyping, verifying, and validating solutions.
- Formulate system architecture and define requirements.
- Craft algorithms, perform simulations, implement solutions, and conduct thorough testing.
- Evaluate, benchmark, and analyze system performance metrics.
- Assist in fixed-point modeling and FPGA design, providing verification support as needed.
- Collaborate with FPGA and software development teams to facilitate hardware/software integration and resolve issues.
- Lead a diverse team of engineers in product and feature development when required.
- Establish, oversee, and drive development timelines and tasks.
- Actively participate in laboratory and field testing, as well as troubleshooting efforts.
- Generate technical documentation and materials.
- Contribute to research and development business growth and capture initiatives as appropriate.
- Understand existing products and technologies, collaborating with other teams for future improvements and strategies.
- Perform additional relevant tasks as necessary.
- Occasional travel may be required to support client interactions or participate in testing and demonstration activities.
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. in wireless communications and signal processing.
- A minimum of eight (8+) years of experience in RF/wireless design and development.
- Comprehensive involvement in the complete wireless technology development lifecycle, from design to field testing.
- Extensive knowledge of RF propagation and channel modeling.
- Expertise in digital communication systems, including RF subsystems, synchronization, channel estimation, and coding.
- Strong proficiency in signal processing algorithms, MIMO, and OFDM.
- Solid understanding of RF capabilities, including modeling RF communications and addressing impairments such as AGC, phase noise, and frequency/clock offset.
- Familiarity with fixed-point modeling, implementation, and verification processes.
- Proficient in MATLAB programming and simulation techniques.
- Eligibility for U.S. government contracts due to U.S. citizenship.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of wireless mobile ad-hoc networking, medium access, and routing algorithms.
- Understanding of cognitive radio in congested and contested spectrum environments, along with interference mitigation strategies.
- Experience in RF sensing, signal detection, and classification techniques.
- Strong technical writing and presentation capabilities.
