We are currently seeking a highly skilled Leave and Workers' Compensation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for administering leave of absences and workers' compensation cases while ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws and Cortica's policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Administer leave of absences and workers' compensation cases, providing exceptional support and guidance to teammates throughout their journey.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for workers' compensation and leave of absence-related support needs, responding promptly and professionally to teammate inquiries.
  • Provide top-notch service and seamless experience by communicating effectively, actively listening to each teammate's situation, and responding with empathy.
  • Interface with workers' compensation insurance representatives and claims adjusters, reporting incidents as needed and bringing claims to resolution.
  • Manage caseload efficiently, setting priorities, developing case management plans, and thoroughly documenting each step through to resolution.
  • Meet established metrics and performance standards for leave management and worker's compensation cases, including response times, case resolutions, and documentation accuracy.
  • Enter, review, and audit paid parental leave payments, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Communicate relevant information regarding teammate situations across the organization, sharing updates with stakeholders such as managers, payroll, and other HR team members.
  • Develop strategies to enhance Cortica's workers' compensation and leave of absence programs, improving processes and materials to support teammates and minimize costs.
Requirements
  • 1+ year of HR-related experience, preferably in case management or a related field.
  • 2+ years of case management experience, with a focus on workers' compensation or disability claims.
  • 6+ months of experience processing workers' compensation or disability claims, with a strong understanding of employment law and legislation.
  • Familiarity with employee accommodations processes and requests.
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and effective communication skills, with the ability to work in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of employment law (federal, state, and local), employment legislation, and compliance.
Compensation & Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role is $29.51 to 31.90 per hour, based on your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location.
