We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Animal Care Technician to join our team at Inotiv. As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, and cleaning animal enclosures.
- Monitor animal health and report any concerns to the veterinary team.
- Assist with animal transportation and handling.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and husbandry activities.
- Participate in pre-study meetings and review study protocols.
- Perform pest monitoring and control.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- AALAS Certification or commitment to attaining certification within 18 months of start date.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move heavy equipment safely.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Animal handling experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional exposure to potential hazards such as hot water, steam, mechanical equipment, biological substances, loud noise, odors, chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions.
We offer a competitive salary range of $18-$20/hour, commensurate with experience and responsibilities. Inotiv is an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
