Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at Denver Health. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for collecting, processing, and reporting laboratory tests to facilitate optimum quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory testing competently, including dipstick and microscopic urinalysis, wet preps, pregnancy test, and other tests to provide diagnostic information to ordering providers.
  • Perform venipuncture for specimen collection on all age groups, using at least 2 patient identifiers and ensuring specimens are labeled correctly.
  • Maintain records of instrumentation maintenance and operate moderately complex and waived testing instrumentation.
  • Identify problems and perform necessary adjustments or conduct maintenance.
  • Report test results in the laboratory information system and maintain required documentation of results.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 1-3 years of experience as a phlebotomist or laboratory technician in a hospital/medical facility or medical assistant with hospital/medical laboratory testing experience Required
