Diagnostic Imaging Specialist for Travel Assignment

Estimated Salary Range:$110,000 - $140,000 per year, based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week, tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
Job Description:Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team for a travel assignment in Kalamazoo, Michigan. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for operating angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, assisting with interventional and surgical procedures, and monitoring patients. You will also be responsible for processing images, maintaining records, and performing various patient positioning and transporting duties.
Responsibilities:
- Operate angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including but not limited to: biopsy, para/thoracentesis, abscess drainages, peripheral vascular stenting, catheter placement, thrombolytic therapy, and embolization.
- Assist with interventional and surgical procedures, receiving direction from attending and resident physicians.
- Monitor patients and alert staff of life-threatening changes in patient status.
- Apply the defibrillator and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation when required.
- Aid with emergency procedures, responding quickly and effectively as they occur.
- Identify and process images, assuring that images are of diagnostic quality.
- Compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure ordered exam accuracy.
- Postprocess images as directed and accurately identify and label images.
- Maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies.
- Enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
- Document billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
- Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
To be successful in this role, you must have experience working in diagnostic imaging, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. You should be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
