Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design and Integration
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Fairlead, LLC. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and integrating electrical systems for various products, primarily for the military, including VFDs, control panels, switchboards, and custom internal components such as EMI filters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems for military products, including VFDs, control panels, and switchboards.
- Perform electrical simulation and analysis using software and hand calculations to ensure design confidence for real-world performance requirements.
- Develop one-lines and schematics using CAD software independently.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as programs, production, and quality, to provide timely technical solutions to production issues.
- Create supplemental work instructions, technical documentation, test procedures, and more to support engineering deliverables.
- Attend meetings and conferences on engineering and continuous improvement matters.
- Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to solve complex engineering design challenges.
- Assist with onsite and off-site testing to support the qualification of equipment for use onboard Navy ships.
- Create definition of on-site qualification confidence testing methods and evaluation criteria.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Testing on completed equipment.
- Serve as the lead engineer for design projects and collaborate with Program Management to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
- Provide mentorship and development for junior engineering staff.
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practical application.
- Highly proficient in the use of 2D CAD software.
- Thorough understanding of electrical integration best practices.
- Intermediate understanding of electrical simulation and analysis with working experience.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.
- Experienced with MIL qualification testing (Electromagnetic Interference, Power Quality).
- Highly proficient in technical writing.
- Highly Proficient in Software and/or Programming (TIA Portal, WinCC, Studio5000, FactoryTalk, Labview, etc.).
- Highly Proficient with Programming languages (ladder, structured text, C, C++, etc.).
- Highly Proficient in AutoCAD software or electrical schematic design software.
