We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Operations Analyst to join our team at the City of Santa Ana. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for analyzing and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal systems and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of operations, programs, processes, and procedures to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for management.
- Prepare Reports and Presentations: Prepare and present reports and recommendations to management, highlighting key findings and proposed solutions.
- Manage Budgets and Financial Resources: Prepare, review, and monitor divisional or departmental budgets to ensure effective financial management and resource allocation.
- Provide Administrative Support: Provide administrative support for personnel-related activities, including selection, training, and separation.
- Develop and Implement Procedures: Assist in the development and revision of written procedures to clarify, describe, or create departmental or divisional standards, policies, and procedures.
- Stay Up-to-Date on Legislation: Review and analyze present and pending legislation related to departmental or divisional activities to determine its impact on operations.
- Communicate Effectively: Participate in meetings with City staff and the public, and make oral presentations to communicate ideas and recommendations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as public administration, business administration, or a related field, and at least two years of responsible governmental administrative experience.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of public administration, government operations, budgetary processes, and personnel procedures. Proficiency in standard business software applications, such as Word, Excel, and Access, is highly desirable.
- Ability to Communicate Effectively: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and present research findings and communicate ideas concisely and effectively.
