Position: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) – Infusion Services

Location: Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Elevance Health locations.

Work Schedule: Day shifts, 40 hours per week

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) plays a vital role in providing comprehensive patient care within their professional scope in a clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Administering prescribed therapies in accordance with established protocols and company policies.
  • Facilitating the patient admission process as directed by the Center Director.
  • Conducting thorough physical assessments for each patient as necessary.
  • Collaborating with the on-duty NP for comprehensive evaluations as required.
  • Documenting all relevant patient information in the medical records accurately.
  • Reporting significant changes or observations to the Center Director and ensuring follow-up on identified issues.
  • Communicating effectively with the IV team regarding patient status and clinical observations.
  • Upholding patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assessing patient responses to therapies and documenting findings appropriately.
  • Educating patients and their families about therapy plans.
  • Participating in the Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring medication orders are complete and accurate prior to administration.
  • Engaging in the On-Call program, which may involve after-hours and weekend responsibilities.
  • Providing clinical support for nurse practitioners on leave and assisting with new market developments.
  • Traveling to various work sites as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Nursing and a minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience as a nurse practitioner; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with intravenous therapies is essential.
  • A current, active, and valid unrestricted NP license to practice in the applicable state is required.
  • Active Family Nurse Practitioner Certification is mandatory.
  • Multi-state licensure is necessary for providing services across state lines.
  • Completion of a Tuberculosis test and Hepatitis B vaccination or signed waiver is required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous healthcare experience with intravenous therapies is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience with IVs is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Port, PICC, and Peripheral Line placements is advantageous.
  • Experience in medication mixing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of titration processes is beneficial.
