Position: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) – Infusion Services
Location: Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of an Elevance Health facility.
Work Schedule: Day shifts, 40 hours per week
Make a Meaningful Difference in Patient Care
The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within the clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers prescribed therapies in accordance with established protocols and policies.
- Conducts comprehensive admission assessments as directed.
- Performs thorough physical evaluations for new patients based on their clinical needs.
- Collaborates with the on-duty Nurse Practitioner for detailed assessments as necessary.
- Maintains accurate and complete documentation in patient medical records.
- Communicates significant changes in patient conditions to the supervising authority and follows up on identified issues.
- Engages effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient status and observations.
- Upholds patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assesses patient responses to therapies and documents findings appropriately.
- Educates patients and their families about treatment plans.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of medication orders prior to administration.
- May participate in on-call duties, including after-hours and weekend responsibilities.
- Provides coverage for colleagues on leave and supports new service launches.
- May require travel to various locations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing with a minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience.
- Experience with intravenous therapies is essential.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the applicable state.
- Active Family Nurse Practitioner Certification is required.
- Multi-state licensure may be necessary for service provision across state lines.
- Completion of a Tuberculosis screening and Hepatitis B vaccination or waiver is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in healthcare settings with a focus on intravenous therapies is highly desirable.
- Two or more years of IV therapy experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Port, PICC, and Peripheral Line placements is advantageous.
- Experience in medication preparation and titration is preferred.
