Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Internal Medicine Technician will be tasked with promoting efficient departmental workflows, mentoring and guiding the team, overseeing the technician schedule, and collaborating with leadership to develop and uphold hospital and departmental policies.
Internal Medicine Technicians carry out a variety of animal health responsibilities, ensuring high-quality care for pets and their owners. Proficiency in duties such as client communication, anesthesia administration, patient monitoring, venipuncture, patient recovery, and medical calculations is essential. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of anesthetics, diagnostic imaging, laboratory techniques, and general patient care, remaining composed in high-pressure situations.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses knowledge of fundamental veterinary practices
- Capable of handling animals appropriately
- Able to assist in veterinary medical procedures
- Recent experience in a veterinary setting
- Willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- 3-5 years of recent experience as a veterinary technician
- Prior customer service experience is essential
- Ability to perform routine veterinary medical procedures
- Experience in patient care is required
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Veterinary Technician Credentials (LVT/RVT/CVT) preferred
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
