Vascular Neurology Division Head and Comprehensive Stroke Center Director Position

Job Summary
The Albany Medical Center is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neurologist with fellowship training in Vascular Neurology to lead the Division of Vascular Neurology and the Comprehensive Stroke Center. As a key member of the Department of Neurology and the Neurosciences Institute, you will join a team of dedicated professionals in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Division of Vascular Neurology and the Comprehensive Stroke Center, overseeing the management of 2,800 stroke patients per year and performing thrombectomies.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and stroke care services.
- Collaborate with neurointensivists, neurosurgeons, and Advanced Practice Providers to provide comprehensive care to patients with cerebrovascular disorders.
- Participate in cerebrovascular clinics, inpatient service coverage, and education of medical students, residents, and vascular neurology fellows.
- Conduct research and contribute to the development of new treatments and protocols for stroke care.
About the Comprehensive Stroke Center
The Comprehensive Stroke Center at Albany Medical Center is one of the largest per volume in New York and serves as a major referral center for upstate New York and surrounding states. The center has a 14-bed state-of-the-art stroke unit and a dedicated 15-bed Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit, staffed by 4 neurointensivists trained at top-tier institutions.
