We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating activities within the construction schedule. This entry-level position offers growth opportunities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with organizing, scheduling, budgeting, and implementing project specifications.
  • Adapt to a dynamic work environment to facilitate field installation.
  • Review contract and bid documents, and understand scope after project turnover.
  • Assist with project document control, including insurance, bonding, permits, submittals, RFI's, change orders, and correspondence.
  • Ensure documents are centrally saved in the project's chosen document control software.
  • Verify that correct drawings are distributed to the field.
  • Assist with scheduling of values or billing format as required by the contract documents.
  • Request purchase orders for major equipment and subcontractors, dictating shipping requirements and anticipating delivery dates.
  • Facilitate material takeoffs by trade foreman.
  • Attend all necessary meetings with internal and external entities to review scheduling, delivery, work plans, job progress, manpower, and solutions to job setbacks.
  • Support the accounting department in monthly billings and collections, and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Collaborate with foreman regarding project safety.
  • Gather information for changes in work and turnover to estimating for pricing.
  • Ensure no work starts prior to approval or notice to proceed.
  • Assist field personnel in closeout of project.
  • Obtain as-builts from the field, request CAD from engineering.
  • Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Project Manager with recommendations for resolution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of related construction industry experience.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science with an engineering or construction management focus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/BIM, and other mechanical, technical, or construction programs.
