Job Description
The General Litigation practice group of our Dallas office has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Litigation Secretary.
The job responsibilities encompass:
- Delivering exceptional work and service to attorneys and clients;
- Making travel arrangements, answering phones, reading and routing mail, maintaining calendars and contact lists, scheduling appointments, reserving conference rooms, organizing meetings and conferences, maintaining filing, processing new business intake, and preparing expense reports;
- Using software such as Microsoft Office 2016, Workshare Compare, Adobe, DMS, etc. to prepare and revise documents, including correspondence, memoranda, and other legal materials;
- Entering, proofreading, and editing attorneys' time entries in the time capture system and on proforma bills;
- Arranging filing and service of documents, electronically filing court documents as required;
- Initiating new client matters and preparing personalized engagement letters;
- Supporting attorneys in pre-, during, and post-trial stages;
- Aiding other Secretaries within assigned teams as needed to meet Firm and client needs;
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Minimum of 10 years of legal secretarial experience;
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation secretarial experience;
- Experience with eFiling in Texas state and Federal Court Systems required;
- Solid knowledge and understanding of trial procedures and court rules;
- Software knowledge must include MS Office suite, Net Docs or other document management systems, and Intapp or other time entry systems;
- Excellent Microsoft Word skills and typing speed of 70 WPM required;
- Candidate must possess strong organizational and communication skills;
- Candidate must possess strong attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects, and strong time management skills;
- Proficiency in grammar, proofreading, and transcription;
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service and communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing;
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodations;
- Ability to work overtime, as required;
- Ability to work well under pressure.
Compensation
The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000, depending on experience.
