Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet their respiratory therapy requirements.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and provide education to patients and families on respiratory health and disease management.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Respiratory Therapist certification (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
  • Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Specialist (NPS) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Experience working in a respiratory therapy setting.
