The Scale House Supervisor is responsible for managing the scale house attendants who perform essential clerical functions to support scale operations. This includes tasks such as operating the truck weigh scale, handling customer inquiries, providing price quotes, processing orders, and maintaining accurate records. You will lead and develop your team, ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service. Ideal candidates will have experience supervising a remote team and preferably possess a background in the waste management or retail sectors. A proven history of achieving results, strong communication skills, and effective problem-solving abilities are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily scale house operations, including staff scheduling, reporting, and addressing customer concerns.
  • Supervise a team of weigh masters, offering guidance, training, and tracking performance metrics.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered through effective interactions at each site.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Maintain oversight of cash handling and financial transactions.
  • Facilitate clear communication between management and operations regarding staffing and team performance.
  • Conduct interviews and hire new staff as necessary.
  • Engage consistently with other organizational stakeholders to foster collaboration.
  • Complete relevant administrative tasks on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Provide support at scale houses as required.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience with supervisory duties.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Bilingual candidates (English and Spanish) are preferred.
