Key Responsibilities:

The Night Security Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and secure atmosphere during evening and nighttime hours. This position also acts as a

representative for the Community and may undertake receptionist, housekeeping, and light maintenance duties to support the Community's operations.
  • Creates a positive first impression for all who enter the Community
  • Handles and screens all incoming phone calls in a polite and professional manner, directing calls and taking messages as needed
  • Welcomes all visitors with friendliness and professionalism
  • Monitors visitor access by requiring sign-in at the reception desk and managing entry/exit
  • Informs Residents of their visitors
  • Guides visitors according to Resident's instructions
  • Assists management with various clerical tasks
  • Pages staff as necessary
  • Distributes maintenance request forms and forwards them to the Environmental Services Director
  • Maintains a tidy and organized front desk and lobby area
  • Familiarizes with and adheres to all emergency and safety protocols, including security cameras and life safety systems
  • Secures all building areas, checking for open doors and any unusual activities
  • Conducts regular rounds of the interior and exterior of the community during shifts and addresses any issues that arise
  • Responds to emergencies as directed and in accordance with policy
  • Completes assigned housekeeping and light maintenance tasks as required
  • Follows shift task assignments as provided
  • Understands and complies with all safety policies and procedures
  • Communicates effectively with the Business Office Manager and other staff members
  • Immediately informs the Business Office Manager, Maintenance Director, and General Manager of any changes in Resident health or any safety emergencies
  • Performs additional duties as necessary
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to diverse individuals
  • Previous experience in public-facing roles
  • Demonstrates initiative and sound judgment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in holiday events
  • Comfortable using a multi-line telephone system, including answering, taking messages, and transferring calls
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Experience in housekeeping and light maintenance tasks
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of management, staff, and external contacts
  • Customer service-oriented
  • A proven team player
  • Physically capable of bending and reaching
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds as needed
Miscellaneous:
  • May have their image used in community advertising
  • May be recorded by devices installed by families in residents' apartments
  • Required to work weekends and holidays as assigned
  • May be asked to work shifts other than the one for which hired
  • May be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day)
  • May be exposed to infectious waste and diseases
  • Could encounter hostile or emotionally distressed Residents
  • Background checks, criminal, and drug tests as per HR policies
  • May be subject to random drug testing during employment
