We estimate the salary for this position to be around $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.

About the Job

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality patient-centered respiratory care, consistent with state and specialty standards. As a vital part of the patient care team, the therapist performs diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and assists with placement of artificial airways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient response and notify provider as necessary.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP)
  • Associate Degree or Vocational School Graduate
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date
