The Cobb County School District is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious individual to serve as a School Crossing Guard. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe movement of children across roadways when arriving to and departing from school. This is a temporary position with a competitive hourly rate of $28.81 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and assist with the safe movement of children across roadways
Assist in the moving of school buses to and from the school campus
Promote the safe behavior of children while in the operating zones of the crossing guard
Maintain a professional demeanor and be courteous to children and drivers
Use hand and arm signals to give clear direction to children and motorists
Remain attentive and alert while on duty
Present a professional appearance
Report problems, unsafe conditions, violations, and incidents to the supervisor
Use discretion when deciding to stop traffic for school buses
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Valid Georgia driver's license
None required experience
Working Conditions:
This position requires routine physical activities and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.
