About the Role

The 3rd Grade Teacher's Aide will provide essential support to the classroom teacher in planning and preparation for daily activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher in all instructional areas, including lesson planning, curriculum development, and instructional delivery.
  • Set up learning activities, assist with center activities, and help clean up when necessary.
  • Copy, collate, laminate, and assemble materials for classroom use.
  • Become knowledgeable about all aspects of the curriculum and assist with implementing it.
  • Work with small groups or individuals under teacher supervision for remediation, absentee work, and other extensions of classroom instruction.
  • Assist with lunch activities, including supervising students during meal times.
  • Accompany classes to co-curricular activities and carpool, ensuring student safety and well-being.
  • Assist with proofreading, sorting, and preparing items to be sent home to parents.
  • Coordinate field trips and other events for classroom teachers, ensuring smooth execution and student engagement.
  • Accompany sick or injured students to the school nurse's clinic and communicate with parents as needed.
  • Help teachers tidy up and prepare the classroom for the next day.
  • Assist with assigned, rotating morning and afternoon duties, contributing to a positive and efficient school environment.
  • Support the school's mission and values by demonstrating a positive attitude, welcoming spirit, and commitment to excellence.
Requirements
  • A growing Christian with a credible profession of faith and involvement in an evangelical church.
  • The capacity to initiate and nurture relationships with parents and students, fostering a sense of community and support.
  • A willingness to work with others in a team environment, promoting collaboration and mutual respect.
  • A positive attitude and welcoming spirit, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere for students and staff.
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal and written/verbal communication, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • A commitment to a lifestyle above reproach, aligning with the school's Statement of Christian Principles and Ministerial Role of Faculty.
  • Experience working with young children, although not required, is preferred.
