The Hackensack University Medical Center offers a 12-month fellowship program for Nurse Practitioners, designed to provide advanced practice nurses with the opportunity to engage in both didactic and clinical experiences.
During the year-long fellowship, Nurse Practitioners will rotate through various patient care settings, including an elective rotation of choice. Clinical rotations will include subspecialties in internal medicine and didactic hours.
Fellowship Program Goals- Building upon the education and practice base required to instill confidence to practice independently to manage a patient caseload;
- Developing effective communication and presentation skills as part of the interprofessional care team;
- Utilizing evidence-based medicine practices through value-based care;
- Preparing the APN to assume full responsibility for care of complex populations in multiple settings;
- Providing an avenue for APN leadership within the organization;
- Leading an evidence-based project or research.
This is a full-time Nurse Practitioner position for 12 months at HackensackUMC. Generally, it will be an 8-hour day shift with occasional nights required. This depends on what rotation the NP is completing. Weekends and holidays as needed.
Requirements:
- New Jersey Nurse Practitioner License;
- CDS & DEA required;
- Board examination needs to be taken and passed.
