Speech and Language Pathology Assistant Job Description

About the Role:

Jabbergym LLC, a member of the Point Quest Group, is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing language therapy to students with communication disorders, working under the guidance and supervision of a Certificated Speech-Language Pathologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech-language therapy assistance to students with varying communication disorders and complex needs.
  • Implement treatment plans established by the supervising SLP, maintain documentation, and report progress to the supervising SLP.
  • Assist with documentation, clerical duties, and preparation of therapy materials, such as core boards, choice boards, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices.
  • Interact and communicate with children, adults, families, and caregivers from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements:

  • Associate of Arts degree in speech-language pathology assistant or communication disorders, or graduation from a speech-language pathology assistant program.
  • Valid California State license to serve as a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant or eligibility to obtain.
  • Experience working in educational or clinical settings, preferably with students with learning or social/emotional problems.
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance, Pro-Act, CPI, and/or CPR certification (helpful).

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit and view computer screens for extended periods.
  • The noise intensity level is moderate to high.
  • Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, and talking.
