About the Role
The Clinical Laboratory Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for performing laboratory services to ensure accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples using proper techniques and equipment.
- Perform and report laboratory testing with high accuracy.
- Verify patient identification and maintain confidentiality.
- Document critical laboratory values according to established policies.
- Assist with drug screens and breath alcohol collections as needed.
- Maintain inventory and use supplies and reagents correctly.
- Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and initiate service requests when necessary.
- Investigate and resolve routine problems or complaints.
- Stay up-to-date with competency requirements.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma with at least three years of laboratory experience or an associate's degree in a related field.
- An associate's degree or bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Experience in a laboratory or medical office setting is preferred.
