Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior estimators to prepare detailed cost estimates by reviewing project plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and gather necessary data for accurate estimations.
  • Work with project managers to determine required materials and labor costs.
  • Research and solicit quotes from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Assist in negotiating prices with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Support the purchasing process by creating purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Help maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, purchasing orders, and supplier agreements.
  • Continuously update cost estimates and procurement timelines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and alternatives for materials and suppliers.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in residential construction (internships or work placements are considered).
  • Basic understanding of residential construction processes, materials, and procurement practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new software (experience with estimating or procurement software is a plus).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
